Central Imaging High Field Open MRI was founded in 1995, and is located at 6101 Central Avenue, in the heart of St. Petersburg. We have been in the diagnostic imaging business for over 15 years, and base our success on our ability to treat our patients with dignity and respect.

We like people to know they have a choice in where they get their MRI done. Up to 60 percent of patients choose an open MRI if they are given the opportunity. At Central Imaging High Field Open MRI, patients are our highest priority. We understand phobias and apprehension. Our staff is trained to comfort claustrophobic patients. Our goal is to make our patients as comfortable as possible, while maintaining the highest technical quality available.

We do the little things that may get overlooked in closed, tunnel-type MRI machines. Patients may even bring a friend or family member along to sit in the room with them during their scan. There is a music system in the machine allowing calming music, or patients may bring a CD of their favorite music. While we rarely need the patient to be sedated, the patient may consult their physician about this and we will gladly accommodate people who come to us with oral sedation.

Our technologists are certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (AART). We are accredited by the American College of Radiology, the highest standard in the industry. Central Imaging is a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, the Clinical Magnetic Resonance Society (CMRS), and the Magnetic Resonance Managers Society (MRMS).

We are in all of the local insurance networks,* so the patient does not have to worry about hefty out-of-network bills. Our staff will verify your insurance before your appointment allowing peace of mind in case a pre-certification is needed. Scheduling can be done by phone or fax. Our friendly staff will try to accommodate patients' busy lives. (Physicians will need to provide a written order). We offer evening and Saturday appointments.The reports are ready for your doctor in 1-2 days, many times the same day. Central Imaging High Field Open MRI has added additional imaging techniques to better meet the growing needs of the growing Pinellas County population. No longer must you go to a different clinic or hospital to get a diagnostic ultrasound or X-Ray. These scans are available at our location in St. Petersburg.

Our hours of operation are currently Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Patients may park right outside our buildings with no long admission process.
